The Medical Director is accountable for quality initiatives to improve HEDIS<!--more--> and other quality ratings and collaborates with the local provider community and state regulatory agencies to improve care. Participate in scheduled team meetings and case rounds. <\/p>\n<p>The Medical Director is a seasoned medical professional who faces outward to and interacts with the Plan\u2019s membership and physician community, physician and health system, nursing facilities, home and community based networks, medical\/physical professional associates, government representatives, and advocacy groups to advance clinical excellence and the delivery of cost efficient care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MD or DO<\/li>\n<li>Board Certified Physician<\/li>\n<li>An unrestricted state license to practice medicine in any state in which he\/she works<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<li>Must have five to ten years practice experience, with experience in LTC<\/li>\n<li>Must practice clinically 8 hrs\/wk<\/li>\n<li>Minimum five years practice experience in his\/her area of specialty<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years of medical management and general management experience in a managed care environment is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
